The City Sporthafen is located in the Hamburg port area between the Überseebrücke and the Kehrwiederspitze in front of the Vorsetzen and the Baumwall. In the immediate vicinity one can find the museum ships "Rickmer Rickmers" and "Cap San Diego". The underground station Baumwall is situated immediately opposite the access to the City Sporthafen, and the underground and city rail stations at Landungsbrücken with taxi stands, bus services and city sightseeing tours are all close by.
In the immediate vicinity there is a bunker station, a supermarket and a large number of restaurants. The "Ausrüstermeile" (Chandlers' Mile) by the Baumwall / Rödingsmarkt / Vorsetzen is exactly opposite, on the land side and is an inviting area for visitors to rummage and shop. And exactly in this respect the City Sporthafen offers special advantages for its guests: on presenting their berth receipt they are granted special conditions not only for harbour boat trips run by the Barkassen-Centrale Ehlers - immediately by the jetty, but also in the shops along the "Harbour Mile".
The City Sporthafen is an ideal spot for taking shopping trips into the city centre of Hamburg: 15 minutes on foot or 2 underground stations to the Rathaus (City Hall) and Jungfernstieg. Cultural events in the Oper (Opera House) or the theatres in the city centre, musicals: the Neues Metropol, currently showing "The Lion King" (is located exactly opposite the Sporthafen), the Stage Theater im Hafen showing "Marry Poppins" or also Hamburg's "Entertainment Mile", the Reeperbahn, can easily be reached on foot.
